I've just learned about a race called Warrior Dash http://warriordash.com. It looks like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, it is sold out! I've added my email address and friended the page on Facebook. Hopefully they will answer the requests of many people and add an additional day. I wish there were more of these types of events.
I ran the USMC MudRun http://www.usmcmudrun.org last year and it was a blast. I was not physically prepared to compete, especially the upper body portions. My training focused on running thinking that since it was a "Run" that was what I needed to prepare for. the obstacle course added some complexity to it. It was still alot of fun and I plan to run it again this year. Hopefully I will be better prepared.
